Reasons why AdSense CPC low in India?
Indian bloggers often complain that they witness very low AdSense Cost Per Click (CPC) compare to United states and many European countries. In fact, same is happening with my blog. So I decided to do some online research Why is AdSense CPC low in India?
In this online research, I went through various blogs and online forums who were discussing AdSense CPC. One thing was clear there are only a few bloggers and blogging niche in India & Pakistan where people are getting more than 1$ as AdSense CPC. In the USA and European countries, the Average CPC is more than 1$. In India, the average CPC varies from 0.05$ to 0.3$. There are only a few bloggers who get more than 0.5$ average CPC.
Still the question, Why is AdSense CPC low in India, is not answered. The answer is hidden in the mechanism with which Google charge the publishers whose ads are offered to various blogs. While keeping mind the interests of Publishers Google offers lower CPC in India and other Asian countries. The main reasons behind that are:
Why is AdSense CPC low in India?
- Less developed Internet marketing in India is the biggest reason Why AdSense CPC is low in India. There are a few publishers who want to promote their products and brands online. Even those publishers don’t want to spend much on Internet marketing. That is the reason for less competition for space on websites for advertisements.
- Fewer Conversion rates: In India the conversion rates from Clicks to final orders are low. People prefer free products and the confidence in e-commerce is still low. People prefer to buy offline. At the same time, Large amount of people clicks on the ads out of curiosity and unintentionally.
- The high CPC paying niches like Insurance, Finance, Banking, Credit Cards & Loans requires changes in existing laws for the ease of doing business. In India, it’s not easy to buy online Insurance or loan as a lot of paperwork is required.
The way things are changing and Internet marketing are getting popular in India. India is going through the digital transformation so chances are the Cost per Click will improve.
